Makai's PC-71 Pineapple (Concert) Ukulele has a Solid spruce top with a mahogany back and sides. The Spruce top has a bright tone with lots of projection. This Pineapple Ukulele has a matte finish with black binding and geared tuners.  All Makai Ukuleles come set up with Aquila strings for maximum Aloha tone.

I'm loving the PC-71's bright tone. I compared it to several others ukes I have that cost 3-10 times more, and it has its own sound. It is most like a Martin, clear and bold, but not as loud. It is not what I would call a "warm" sound, such as Kanile'a. It sounds like a spruce top!
